چکیده
Abstract Introduction Insomnia is one of the most prevalent health concerns in general population. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and pharmacological interventions are recommended for treatment insomnia. However, CBT can be expensive difficult to access, while use pharmacotherapy limited by reports adverse events. Due these limitations, there a strong need alternative measures manage Preliminary research indicates potential that electrical vestibular nerve stimulation (VeNS) has as non-invasive method managing The aim this study evaluate efficacy VeNS sleep quantity quality individuals with insomnia, compared sham control. Methods was two-armed, double-blind randomized controlled trial conducted across two sites United Kingdom (UK) Hong Kong (HK). Participants aged over 18 years an Severity Index (ISI) score 15 or higher were randomly assigned intervention control groups. group instructed device at home 30 minutes daily 4 weeks, same period. ISI values captured baseline, 2 weeks weeks. Sleep life (QoL) assessed baseline using Pittsburgh Quality (PSQI) 36-item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36), respectively. Results A total 146 participants recruited from HK (n=94) UK (n=52) sites. recently been completed statistical analysis ongoing. between-group change (primary outcome), QoL week will examined. Conclusion results help determine whether relatively inexpensive, technique effective management data collected used support regulatory submissions, primarily US Food Drug Administration. background headache is one of the most prevalent investigated complaints in the neurology clinics and is the most common pain-related complaint worldwide. stress is a significant factor that causes and triggers headaches. since healthcare practitioners experience a lot of stress in their careers, they are more prone to headaches. objectives this study was designed to evaluate and compares the e...
متن کاملEfficacy of Low-Level Laser Versus Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation for Treatment of Myofascial Pain Syndrome: A Clinical Trial
Background and Aim: Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) is the most common cause of facial muscle pain. This study sought to assess the efficacy of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and low-level laser (LLL) for treatment of MPS in comparison with a sham laser control group. Materials and Methods: In this randomized controlled clinical trial, 55 MPS patients between 18-60 years old ...
متن کاملLow-Level Laser Therapy Versus Electrical Stimulation for the Management of Acute Bell\'s Palsy: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Purpose: Electrotherapy is a common intervention for the rehabilitation of Bell’s palsy. Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and electrical stimulation (ES) are two therapeutic interventions for Bell’s palsy that have been proven to be superior to conventional treatments. To date, no clinical trial has compared the effectiveness of these two interventions. This pilot study aims to compare the effect...

BACKGROUND Tennis elbow is a common and often extremely painful musculoskeletal condition, which has considerable impact on individuals as well as economic implications for healthcare utilization and absence from work. Many management strategies have been studied in clinical trials. Whilst corticosteroid injections offer short term pain relief, this treatment is unpleasant and is used with caut...
متن کاملEfficacy of electrical nerve stimulation for chronic musculoskeletal pain: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Previous studies and meta-analyses of the efficacy of electrical nerve stimulation (ENS) for the treatment of chronic pain of multiple etiologies have produced mixed results. The objective of the present study was to determine whether ENS is an effective treatment for chronic musculoskeletal pain by using statistical techniques that permit accumulation of a sample size with adequate power. Rand...
